As coronavirus concerns continue to spread, this year’s SXSW festival has officially been cancelled.

The decision was announced by Austin city authorities on Friday afternoon just days after the withdrawal of several large sponsors.

According to the festival’s organizers, this is the first time in their 34 year history that they’ve had to cancel the event.
