Sampha Announces His Sophomore Album ‘LAHAI’

UPDATE: We now have an official release date.

Sampha has confirmed that his new album LAHAI will be released on October 20. The project will be a total of 14 tracks.

Sampha’s long-awaited sophomore album is on the way.

In a series of posts made on social media earlier today, the London artist announced that the album will be titled LAHAI, and explained the significance of the name with a brief message:

“My grandfather’s name
My Middle Name
My next musical chapter
My next album”

Back in June Sampha broke a six year hiatus when he returned with the release of his new single “Spirit 2.0.” “It’s about the importance of connection to both myself and others, and the beauty and harsh realities of just existing,” he said in a press release. “It’s about acknowledging those moments when you need help—that requires real strength. I hope people can enjoy that feeling of someone being there for you, even if that person doesn’t have the answers…”
